Chopin Monument in Chicago

“Chopin Garden”

I’ve been given the privilege to create a work of art featuring the “Chopin Garden”. It’s a challenge and an opportunity to honor Frederic Chopin, a giant in the world of piano music. A monument is planned for location in Grant Park, Chicago. The area will be known as the “Chopin Garden”. As part of the project, I’ve been commissioned to provide an original oil painting.

This page contains my six initial drawings done in preparation for the oil painting. While not the final version, I plan to update this page as work progresses. My painting will be reproduced as limited edition fine art prints and offered for purchase as part of fund raising to finance casting the statue. The site for a Chopin monument, at 11th Street and Michigan Avenue, southern end of Grant Park, is already approved.
