Sky

   I paint the open spaces of my mid-western home. This page contains the "sky" paintings; images of sunrises and sunsets, cerulean blue skies filled with those huge white cumulus clouds. I paint yellow skies, lavender skies, pink skies, and red skies. I've seen them all in this glorious heartland where I live.

    The bulldozer may level some of the gently rolling hills, dig man-made lakes, permanently alter the land, and wipe out familiar landmarks, but the sheltering sky is always up there. It awaits my paint brush.

    Collectors of my work tell me they are not just purchasing a painting, but acquiring a window with a view. Sometimes that view is what we see above the land.

  It's quite a thrill; having an art collector share my view and wish to own one of my landscapes. Then I know something I created has found a new home.
