   Building an image with a fine line ink pen has always been a restful, healing experience for me. I say “building”, because I use thousands of small cris-crossing fine lines to “build” the drawing.

    It is hypnotic seeing trees and foliage, barns, skyscrapers, grasses, and peopled events gradually take shape under my pen.

    My subject matter is much the same as you will see on the Cityscapes and Landscapes pages; however, the approach is very different from oil painting.

    Once I have composed the drawing with a few guidelines in graphite pencil, and have set enough music to play for five hours, I take up my fine micron pen, relax, and begin, very lightly, to coax the image I have in my mind onto paper. I never know where the hours have gone.

    Many of the pen and ink drawings you see on this page have taken twice as much time to finish than a painting of similar scope and subject. However, collectors of my work love them, and I enjoy the pen and ink process.
